Where We Went
-
Culver City Ropes Course
On our first field trip, we went to a ropes course at Culver City Park. Some of the activities we did were a rock climbing wall, the leap of faith, the beam walk, the animal communication game and the human knot. When we were doing the ropes course some people overcame their fear of heights. Each tribe did two different games while the others were at the ropes course. We did the human knot; it is a game where we went in a circle and tangled ourselves and tried to untangle the knot. The animal communication game is when we make a special animal noise for a direction to guide one of our teammates to find a certain item while blindfolded.

Franklin Canyon Park
When went to Franklin Canyon, we learned about the different animals and plants. We learned how to fox walk, use dear ears and owl eyes. We saw a dear shelter; it was like a cave made of sticks and tree. We also played a game, were one person would make tracks in sand, and the rest of the people would have to figure our which way they went. Then at the end, we took a big hike, and took pictures of the ten systems.

Ivanhoe Elementary Neighborhood
Our last field trip during Full Circle was a community walk. We walked around Silver Lake (our community) and took pictures of things that represent different systems. During the walk, we split up into our tribes and took different routes. While we were walking, we were also picking up trash and thinking of problems in our community and how we could fix it. We learned a lot about our community and were inspired to help it.
