    Culver City Ropes Course

Our first field trip of Full Circle was the ropes course.  We were nervous, scared, anxious and excited when we arrived at our destination.  We were expected to climb a 40 foot long ladder and then jump off.  First we had to learn how to put on our protectve gear.  Then we went with our clans and tribes and went up in pairs.  We felt scared and nervous.  When we got up to the bridge, the people looked very small.  Then we jumped.  Everyone was cheering us on and holding supporting ropes.  We felt alive and free after jumping.  We were all proud of our efforts, no matter how long they took.  We also had fund learning cooperative games with Justin.  We will remember this day because we had lots of fun.

    Franklin Canyon Park

Our second field trip was to Franklin Canyon Park.  The bus ride was on a steep hill where felt we could fall down.  We saw a lake in the middle of Franklin Canyon.  We learned fro the guide about animal survival in nature.  We played games like the Fox Walk.  Then we hiked looking for signs of animals.  After lunch, we took pictures of systems in nature.  This day was a memorable and relaxing field trip because we got to learn about nature.

    Mayberry School Neighborhood

Our last field trip was a community walk around the Mayberry neighborhood which is on the border of Echo Park and Silver Lake.  We went walking while taking pictures of different systems.  The systems we took pictures of were economic, food, energy, shelter, water, political, social, transportation, ecology and communication.  We took many pictures.  We saw many things in our community.  For example, there was a lot of trash in water drains.  We saw a lot of graffiti and animal waste.
